Aside from the WWE, there is two other organizations. These companies are TNA and ROH. They have been making quite the impact, no pun intended. It's tough trying to compete with a company that is dominant in the ratings division. With the bigger stars on Impact Wrestling like Kurt Angle, the WWE takes note and definitely wants him back on their show. What does Kurt Angle think about this? They were considering having Kurt end the almighty Undertaker's streak. This would have taken place at WrestleMania 22 back in 2006: Angle said, and I quote "It was considered back in 2006. The person who wanted to do it was Undertaker himself. I was flattered, for him to go to Vince McMahon and pitch it. Undertaker at that point never had a five-star WrestleMania moment match. He figured the only one that he could do it was me, at the time. Thank God a couple of years later he had Shawn Michaels, and it worked.
"But Undertaker really wanted to have that match. He asked Vince to push our match back from No Way Out to WrestleMania and, since I was champion they wanted me to keep the title, Undertaker was willing to take the loss. To me that meant a lot because Undertaker had a lot of respect for me. And I had more respect for him than he did for me." All I can say is talk about a ratings booster. Will Kurt Angle finish is ravishing career in TNA or WWE? Then there is also Christopher Daniels, who is in both companies. Making appearances on Impact Wrestling and Ring of Honor. Daniels has a scheduled ROH TV Title Match: vs. El Generico. At Ring of Honor's i-PPV titled "Best in the World 2011" on Sunday, June 26th. Obviously this means that Christopher Daniels, despite appearing on TNA Impact. Still has a contract with Ring of Honor. The two companies settled on an agreement that would allow Daniels appear under a mask in TNA. Not to appear as Christopher Daniels, this was March 11th. They took Suicide's page off of the TNA website. Suicide was portrayed by Daniels who is now on television, without the mask. Catch the ippv "Best in the World 2011" for more information.
As far as Thursday's edition of TNA Impact goes. It drew a horrible 1.02 rating which is down from the 1.08 rating that the show drew last week. Much like its nemesis WWE, who hasn't been producing good ratings either. Need to step things up and actually show something that people want to see. Back-to-back lousy ratings, week in and week out for Impact. It's 2011 and this is the worst they've performed since December. As much as I love to watch wrestling, you have to keep your fans entertained. As far as they are doing as a company it could be worse. Despite being down in the ratings Impact Wrestling is the number 1 show on all of Spike Television. Which is a very significant achievement and a lot of people don't see that. There are plenty of good things when it comes down to it. No one gives TNA or ROH enough credit and without the "other guys." Wrestling wouldn't be "wrestling."
Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas have teamed back up together in ROH. These two men have to defend their ROH Tag Team Championships week in and week out. More other big WWE names appear to be coming aboard the ship. Which could only help Ring of Honor out with ratings and fans. At this point there is no time table for return to traditional pay per view. The internet ppv's will hopefully keep them afloat. Chicago also was announced that they will be the host. Of the first of the NEW ROH TV tapings! The date has been set for August 13th, 2011. A new wrestling promotion called the All Wheels Wrestling group. Will be taping TV shows at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida on June 29th. TNA will be taping Impact that same week. They're saying that this "made for television" event will appeal to both wrestling fans and motorsports enthusiasts alike. TNA also has ownership control for this project.
