Tell Me, We Didn't Just See That!
As only the incomparable Booker T would say. If only he was Monday night Raw's, but yes a surprise to us all. Not only did Money in the Bank come off as a big pay per view. Not only in the ratings department, but as far as storylines goes as well it's been ship shape. Not to mention CM Punk's very last match in the WWE. Which many thought was impossible, CM Punk only proved them all wrong. Going from just a normal match, to becoming pay per view status. Money in the Bank has once again out done itself. Daniel Bryan pulled off a hard fought victory in the Smackdown edition of Money in the Bank. The second of two random CM Punk chants are heard throughout the match. Wade Barrett was nearing the victor as he tries to pull of Wasteland from the top of the ladder. Daniel Bryan would have none of this and kicks Barrett off to capture the briefcase. The crowd is hot at this point and the pay per view was only getting started. Vince McMahon finally arrives right before the Diva's Championship match. I know, I know, everyone is tired of seen "twin magic." Kelly Kelly on the hand never gets old and defeats the odds once again to retain her Diva Championship.
For weeks the Big Show and Mark Henry have been taking turns dominating each other. Getting slammed through tables, punched in the face, and the list goes on. Must say for two big fellas the match finished boring and Mark Henry getting his hand raised. Henry not satisfied goes to grab a chair and gives a devastating Vader-splash onto Big Show's leg. The Big Show's leg was caught between a rock and a hard place. Because of this or so the "sources" say. Big Show has suffered major injuries and out 6-8 weeks with a "distal fracture of the fibula." Only the Big Show knows the real reason. Sin Cara's injury on the other hand is for real. WWE saying the Sin Cara suffered rib injuries and will be "out at least four weeks." The real reason is a 30 day suspension for violating the Wellness Policy. A mask for a briefcase? This expression could be used to describe Raw's Money in the Bank ladder match. Alberto Del Rio and Rey Mysterio are the last two and battle it out at the top of the ladder. Alberto beat Mysterio to the point where is mask comes off. Alberto throw's the mask to the outside of the ring and grabs the briefcase. I'm sure this was meant to happen.
To everyone's surprise Randy Orton gets himself disqualified and Christian is the new World Heavyweight Champion. Really doesn't matter to me between the two, but keep it on one guy. No one wants to see the titles switch hands back and forth every week. The idea is to make it look less fake guys! The chants for CM Punk haven't stopped and haven't even as Monday night Raw went on the air. No one thought CM Punk would beat John Cena, but he did. Even the almighty king of the ring himself Vince McMahon couldn't stop Punk. The end of the match Cena locks on the STF and Vince looks like he's about to pull another Montreal Screw job. Cena end's up doing the right thing, such a nice guy! Breaks the hold and stares down McMahon. This gives Punk enough time to hit the Go To Sleep to become the NEW WWE Champion. CM Punk leaves Chicago with everything he hoped for. Farewell Punk, you will be missed.
Which brings us to Monday Night Raw and what an evening it was. Joey Styles returns this Thursday to commentary and HHH is running the show now! That's right and as the evening went on everything became quite clear. Vince comes out in the beginning to discuss John Cena's future and an 8 man tournament to determine the new champion. At the end of the night once it was all said and done The Miz and Rey Mysterio were set to face off for the title. Rey stands in the ring and waits, but Vince McMahon's music plays once again. Vince comes down and apologizes to Rey by telling him he has to postpone the championship match until next week. The fans boo and Rey leaves the ring and out comes John Cena. Cena gives a speech that made me throw up a little bit in my mouth and McMahon cuts him off.
Vince says he hates to do this, when all of a sudden TIME TO PLAY THE GAME! The crowd goes nuts as HHH walks down to the ring. Who hasn't been seen since WrestleMania, neither has the Undertaker. HHH tells McMahon that the board is concerned about Vince's extremely questionable decisions as of late. HHH pretty much comes to the ring to tell Vince that he's FIRED! HHH is now taking over operations. A sad, sad day as Vince tears up in the middle of the ring and the crowd chant's Thank You. After Raw goes off the air, Vince took off his tie and coat and stands tall wanting to fight. Cena tries to talk Vince down, but gets a slap to the face instead. Cena looks to the crowd for approval, but before he can strike McMahon. The Miz, R-Truth and Dolph hit the ring to save Vince. They make an example out of Cena until Zack Ryder (where did he come from?) Santino and Evan Bourne clear the ring, except for Dolph who takes the finishing maneuver from all of the faces. Who will be Raw's Champion next week? Will Randy Orton survive long enough against Kane to challenge Christian for the title again? Be there or be square!
