Power to the Peeps

This week's edition of Raw finished with a 3.08 rating, up from last week's WWE Raw which drew a 3.05. Evening started out with CM Punk demanding he be "officially" named the number one contender. After staging a sit-in while making snow angels, the Raw GM finally made a match for later on and his two opponents would be Rey Mysterio and Alberto Del Rio. The winner would get the number one spot for a shot at John Cena. Not so bad considering there are many who think that Raw was rigged. The whole voting aspect being thrown into a conspiracy theory really raises questions. The following statement was issued by WWE.com on their Twitter page: "Technical errors occurred in some of the voting results during Raw: Power to the People." It's not WWE's first time letting the fans vote. So this isn't the first time they've had issues either. The main problem fans had with the results from last night was in the match that put Evan Bourne up against Mason Ryan. Mason Ryan beat out Sin Cara and Jack Swagger with the most number of votes. Sources say that "backlogging" of votes for the previous Diva's match. Is the reason that the votes were skewed for Bourne's match. I for one was looking forward to seeing Sin Cara face Evan Bourne. If it's because WWE couldn't get their "technical" problems under control. I'm sure many people will agree with that next week. There needs to be a match between Sin Cara and Evan Bourne. WWE seems to be warming up to Sin Cara and vice versa. Not only has he improved his in-ring skills. He's also managed to do a match or two with some tag team partners. A great feud that I think would last a long time.

This however was not the only match that had technical difficulties. WWE.com announced that there was another error from Monday night's "Power to the People" edition of Raw. The error happened in the match between Dolph Ziggler and Kofi Kingston. Fans had "supposedly" voted for the stipulation to be a "2 out of 3 Falls" match, for the United States title. However, they're (WWE) is saying that it should of banned Vickie Guerrero from ringside. Really didn't match much anyways to be honest. The match was spectacular and it seems that Dolph has found some attitude, which can only help him out in the long run. To make a long story short not only did the fans get robbed, but so did Kofi. After being tied up with one win a piece, meaning the next fall will conclude the winner. Dolph decides to take things to the outside going for his precious United States Championship. Dolph takes a wild swing and misses Kofi and gets a kick to his head for all his efforts. That doesn't stop Dolph from trying to get out of the match. Ziggler eventually nails Kofi in the head with a microphone and the match is called off because of disqualification. Are we seen a pattern here? Never seems to fail for a match on Raw to end in disqualification.

Rewind a few minutes before this match and we have a NEW Diva's Champion. The fans "voted" for Kelly Kelly to face Brie Bella and what a battle it was. Very little interference from Brie's sister Nikki made this match clean as a whistle with Kelly Kelly eventually rolling up Brie from the corner for the pin fall victory. Causing tension between the two twins and bringing in Kelly Kelly's first Diva's Championship! This should make for some interesting television and all I can say is good for Kelly Kelly. She’s been in the business a lot longer than any of the Bella twins and quite a better wrestler. Moving on the viewer's are graced with the presence of Mark Henry. Mark took out the Big Show at Capital Punishment by slamming him threw a table and causing injury. Kane comes out and the fans vote in for this match to be an "arm wrestling match." A big joke if you ask me and I think most of the fans in the arena agreed. Both men acting like they're ready, but then break and finally on the third try lock horns. I think this is what starts the "this is stupid" chant's by the adoring fans of the WWE. Mark finally takes a cheap shot at Kane and eventually gets the one up on him. Both men now outside and Mark puts Kane threw the table the same way he did Big Show saying "Kane needs to suffer."

The show goes on after fans go through a few awkward moment's with R-Truth, Christian, and The Miz. The three grown men are standing in the ring, shouting random non-sense at each other. Before the Teddy Long comes out and makes a 6-Man Tag Team match for the main event, putting the three men in the ring up against John Cena, Alex Riley, and Randy Orton. The big announcement for the evening had to come when CM Punk pulled off a victory over Alberto Del Rio and Rey Mysterio. With CM Punk pulling off a hard fought victory he finds his spot in the middle of the ring and takes a breather and announces that July 17th will be a big night for him and the WWE. Of course the 17th of July being the Money in the Bank pay per view. Not only is it the night that he says he's going to beat John Cena for the Heavyweight Title, but his contract ends that same night. I don't know about everyone else, but at that point my heart dropped and really puts a damper on the Raw roster. He says that once the clock strikes Midnight that he's done with WWE and he's leaving with the WWE Championship. One can only speculate that this is indeed CM Punk's last match in the WWE. Having done something similar with his time in ROH, this time it's for real. CM Punk will be deeply missed.

As far as the rest of the night goes, we continue to get crap shoved down our throats. Ratings may have gone up, but with Vickie and Michael Cole doing dance routines. I don't think ratings are going to stay up for much longer. Not if they keep showing these two morons on television. Vickie "danced" if that's what you want to call it. For a mere two seconds then forces Matt Striker to kiss her?! For what reason no one knows. Cole says that he's going to dance with perfection, then of course, dances like an idiot. Looking as if he's never dance in his life ever! Breaking out a lame attempt at a Spinaroonie and the worm. Incredibly stupid was the whole scenario and all I can say is wow. This brings us to the main event which fans voted for it to be an Elimination Match.

The following statement made earlier by WWE.com: "Regrettably, technical difficulties occurred once more leading up to the night’s Six-Man Tag Team Match main event, when it became apparent to WWE management that text votes were again not being tabulated properly. At this time, a decision was made to turn to WWE.com’s Live Chat Poll for the official judgment. With the power still in the hands of the people, the WWE Universe selected the Elimination Match (option C) by an overwhelming 87 percent, leading to this stipulation being enacted." Some fans have gone far as to saying they're been insulted. With this edition of Raw being for the "people" voted by the "people." Then having difficulties that they can't control. As a loyal fan I usually let most things slide, despite my extreme grotesque towards things like this. Did we really have the power in our hands? Or was that just WWE's way of getting people involved and ratings to go up? You be the judge.
