Who is the best opponent for Sting in the WWE?

The most talked about arrival came this past Sunday at Survivor Series when Sting of WCW glory entered a WWE ring for the first time.  Sting has been the one superstar that the WWE has been longing for and they finally got their wish when he signed a deal in the summer.  Sting’s career is one of the most storied of all time and it seemed like only a matter of time until the painted one would enter a WWE ring and he did it as only he could, making one of the most amazing impact’s ever seen in a pay-per-view event.  With the arrival of Sting finally who would be the best fit as his opponent?  Many are saying he will have a one and done match, where he will retire having his first and last match in the WWE so in other words it has to be one of the most epic battles that has ever taken place.  Here are a few of our choices:

Sting vs. Undertaker

Unfortunately with the defeat that the Taker suffered at the hands of Brock Lesnar this match seems to lack the luster it once had but in all honesty who wouldn’t want to see these two amazing wrestlers battle it out in Sting’s possible final match.

Sting vs. Triple H

It almost seems inevitable after what happened at Survivor Series that Triple H and Sting will meet in the ring but does this match really draw the crowd and fans?  The fact is they would put on one of the best matches in WWE history but is it worthy of the finale for Sting?

Sting vs. The Rock

This is a very highly unlikely match but that would be the draw would be amazing.  The Rock is the most electrifying man when he enters the ring and touches the mic but Sting has a following like no other, one that would rival The Rock.  This would be one for the ages.

Honorable Mention: Sting vs. C.M. Punk

Can Daniel Bryan return better than ever?

We all know that as an athlete your body takes a beating and much more so when you are willing to lay it all on the line every night.  Enter Daniel Bryan, the fact is Bryan is one of the best at giving the fans what they want.  There is no risk he will not take, there is no move he will not try and there is nothing he will not do to put on the best show possible.  In my opinion that is why he has risen to such popularity, even so much as to become the WWE champion when clearly that was not something that the company wanted at that time.

This article is not really about Daniel Bryan’s popularity or how he has risen to become the WWE champion, this article is to discuss whether he can return to his top form when he returns from injury.  Bryan gives it all every night that he wrestles and eventually that is what caught up with him.  He had issues not only with his neck but also with other part of his body.  When it is your dream to be the champion you are willing to give all but what if all you have to give is not enough, what if Bryan comes back from injury and his best just isn’t good enough?

Three things that we must look for in the return of Daniel Bryan:

1. Will he be reluctant to do what he has done in the past?

2. Can he be as intense as he was before?

3. Does his passion for the dream still live on?

If Bryan can trust his body, if he can put all those injury concerns behind him, and if he still has the passion to compete at the highest level then there is no doubt that he will once again be the WWE champion.  Are those things possible?  Only time will tell.

Roman Reigns: Let the Roman Empire rise

We all understand that the SHIELD was one of the best 3-man tag teams to ever grace the WWE, with the speed of Rollins, the unpredictable nature of Ambrose, and the power of Reigns it made for a unstoppable force.  When the SHIELD made an entrance you knew that someone was going to pay and pay they did.  Dominance and Force are two words that could sum up the SHIELD’s reign in the WWE when they were together.  As the company chose a different direction for these individuals you had an idea who would rise to the top, as Rollins turned heel the one emerging super hero would of course be Roman Reigns.

Reigns is what the WWE needs in the absence of Daniel Bryan due to medical issues, Roman Reigns is the perfect sell for the WWE to fans as a wronged team member and the next big thing.  Reigns has competed and won against some of the companies biggest names with his latest victim being Randy Orton.  Look for Reigns to truly step his game up and make a serious run for a championship and ultimately to become the WWE world heavyweight champion.

If you were to build a WWE superstar from the ground up, you would look no further than Roman Reigns.  Reigns has the presence to carry the company as the champion. With his power, size, speed and strength he could hold that belt for quite a long time.  Look for the Roman Empire to begin to rise soon.

The SHIELD vs Evolution

What makes a rivalry?  What makes a battle that each and every fan wants to see and would pay to see?  Answer, take a group of future Hall of Famers and pit them against one of the most dynamic teams that has stepped into the squared circle.  Enter: Evolution vs. The SHIELD… The fact is you can feel the tension when both of these teams come close the ring, it is almost as though these two teams truly dislike each other.  As the COO, Triple H has become the one who tries to dictate the situation in his favor the only issue with this is that the SHIELD are much like the recently retired CM Punk.  They love to buck the authority and do things their own way, no doubt that this rubs the “authority” the wrong way.

In the beginning the SHIELD were working for Triple H, the COO would call out the orders and the SHIELD were quick to take action.  For months the SHIELD dominated the company, orders were given and wrestlers were taken out.  The SHIELD were keeping the authority safe and secure…but then Triple H made the mistake of ordering the SHIELD to be taken down, big mistake.  The SHIELD, when they discovered the betrayal, it was their objective to completely destroy the authority and anyone they associate with in the company.

Who better to enter the picture than one of the top groups to ever grace the WWE, Evolution.  This has made for one of the better rivalries in the past couple of months for the WWE.  Look for it to go on for a few pay-per-views because as of right now with the WWE champion Daniel Bryan on the mend from neck surgery this is the face of WWE.

Is Roman Reigns the next main event player?

The WWE has really had a knack of putting big time players on the map, this has been true of CM Punk, Daniel Bryan, the list goes on and on.  The key seems to be getting the wrestler in a situation where he or she can shine and not only shine but out shine those he is teamed with or those he faces on a nightly basis.  This seems to be the case of Roman Reigns of the SHIELD.  Reigns has truly shot up the rankings in the eyes of fans, mainly due to his incredible power and his personality.  Reigns no doubt is the leader of the SHIELD and he has risen to the top as the power house who is willing to take on all comers.

In my mind Reigns will be the next big thing in the WWE the key will be how will the company market him and send him soaring?  Reigns will at some point break away from the SHIELD but for the WWE this timing must be almost perfect.  The company does not want to take him away too soon or this could send shock waves throughout the fan base, too late and his time could pass.

Look for Reigns to be a main player in the WWE championship title picture, no doubt he will earn a few titles along the way but his ultimate goal will be the WWE title.  As of right now the SHIELD are on a hot streak with the fans and the WWE is capitalizing on that momentum, also it would be foolish to pit Reigns against the favorite Daniel Bryan.  Look for in the near future a possible Reigns vs. Triple H or even Reigns vs. Orton feud after the Evolution vs. the SHIELD battle has ran its course.

The Ultimate Warrior: One in a million

I remember growing up and watching WWF Saturday Night Main Event, I used to get butterflies in my stomach when I would watch Hulk Hogan wrestle, I used to be so nervous because I wanted him to win so bad and it seemed as though the odds were always against him.  Hulk was one of my all time favorites but there was another, the Ultimate Warrior burst onto the scene and he made a huge splash.  This guy always ran to the ring and has more passion and desire than many of the other wrestlers I had watched he was incredible.  The Warrior seemed to take on a whole different personality when he came to the ring, I never really understood him when he spoke on the microphone (now when I look back I see he was an incredible hype man) because I was young, I just knew that this guy was for real and he loved what he did.

One of the greatest things for me was being able to show my kids the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony where The Ultimate Warrior was inducted, I was able to show my children how this guy ran to the ring with passion and he lived his life that way.  The Warrior showed in his speech that not only was he a passionate wrestler but he was passionate in all areas of his life, as a father and a husband.

So here’s to the Ultimate Warrior, a man that lived his life full of passion and lived life to the fullest.  It seems as though the TV appearance on RAW really opened the eyes of others as he passed that same week.  He spoke of having the “Warrior Spirit” to which I believe is being passionate about the things in life that you were born to do whether its wrestling, sports, business, being a husband, being a father it’s all about doing it all to the best of your ability so at the end of the day, at the end of your life you can say you left it all on the mat.  Thank You Ultimate Warrior.

The reign of Daniel Bryan

The fact is WWE was looking for a hero, the John Cena motto Hustle, Loyalty and Respect had grown a little and old, the WWE needed a new face to rise up enter: Daniel Bryan.  Bryan represents what most people view themselves as, the underdog, the person that is passed on or looked over because of lack and when others see someone like that they cling to him.  The best thing about the WWE taking this storyline is the fact that they raised a modern day David vs. Goliath when they put Triple H against Bryan.  It seemed as though anytime Bryan would get the upper hand or it would seem as though he was on the rise enter Triple H “the authority” to knock him down.  Daniel Bryan has carried the weight of the WWE universe on his shoulders and he has carried it well.

The amazing thing about Bryan is the fact that he has the “Warrior Spirit” the never say die attitude and the push to be better than the next guy.  Bryan uses the energy from the crowd to put himself in a position where nothing is impossible from battling giants in the ring to the authority outside the ring Bryan has proven him self to be worthy of being the face of the WWE.

The title reign of Bryan has started off rocky, he has defended the title and been a fighting champion but unfortunately his body has taken the toll, leading to the neck surgery he received today.  Bryan is a guy who gives all and it seems that those guys are the ones who suffer for not only performing but putting forth the best product they can.  The reign of Daniel Bryan will be a successful one, if he can come back from neck surgery, and here is why:

1. He has the support of the people: With the promoting of the WWE network the support of the people is important and you can believe that the one Superstar that has that support is Daniel Bryan.

2. He is a fight champion and a huge draw: The fans want to see Bryan, they will pay money to see the “YES” man go to work and WWE knows that.

3. Right now who better to be champion: Everyone loves an underdog and everyone loves to see someone with passion and as of right now there is no one who has more passion than that of Daniel Bryan.  He is the face of the WWE but in order for that to continue he will have to come back stronger and better than before.

TNA reveals the mystery investor

For weeks now TNA has been putting into play a ‘mystery investor’ with what seemingly has been a power hungry exec. in Dixie Carter only making choices for what is best for her the company put in a investor to right the wrongs of Ms. Carter.  The fact is the investor was making many crucial decisions and signing superstars without the consent of Dixie Carter.  After the company has lost the likes of Jeff Hardy, Sting and what seems to be A.J. Styles, truth be told TNA seems to be reeling and they need solid star power back in the company and what better way that to have a ‘good cop/bad cop’ session with the top of TNA.  The mystery investor was revealed as none other than MVP.

The fact is, I expected someone with a little more pull than MVP but the fact is MVP has a way with fans and if he plays his cards right and brings in top stars TNA could see a new day ahead.  In the same sense if this becomes just another ploy and he becomes ineffective after a few weeks TNA could fall further behind there counterparts in the WWE.

In this article I have put together a small checklist that must take place for the new investor, fact is when you come into a business you strive to make it better and in this case there are a few things that MVP must do to bring TNA into being a top notch rival:

3) Anything you can do, I can do better: He must one up Dixie Carter on everything she does, from match making to appearances, he has to be the go to guy that makes it work in TNA.  He must be seen at all events and heard he must be the face of change in the company and if he does that many fans will get the bad taste for TNA out of there mouth.

2)Produce in ring results: To get a solid fan base and pull others you must have top notch talent in the ring every night, defending titles and producing big ratings.  More cage matches, more Monster’s Ball matches, more high flying it is time to go for broke for the company and they now have a starting point but they must produce.

1)Bring in Superstar talent: No more rookies, no more guys off the street but legit guys with solid fan bases.  When you lose the foundation of your company like Sting, Jeff Hardy, AJ Styles you have to bring in big time players to fill those shoes, one would be if they could sway the currently disgruntled C.M. Punk to switch to TNA that would bring epic returns to the company.

Top 3 landing spots for C.M. Punk

It has been no surprise that over the course of weeks that C.M. Punk has been a no show at WWE events, with what has been reported as a disgruntled employee who walked out on the company, Punk has distanced himself from Twitter as well as the media.  The WWE has gone on as if nothing has happened (but let’s face it when one of the biggest stars in your company walks out people notice).  In this article we want to look at the possible landing spots where C.M. Punk can go from here, he has the following and fan base to be successful in most any endeavor he chooses.  So here they are the top 3 landing spots possible for C.M. Punk:

3) TO TNA: I know, I know this would not be Punk’s first go at the secondary company but the fact is if he really wants to stick it to Vince and the boys a transition to the rival (and I say that loosely) company would be perfect.  TNA has been losing stars left and right, now with the way things are playing out with MVP being the mystery investor they could be returning but to have a name like Punk enter could be an epic catapult for the company.  Punk’s fan base alone would rival any star that is in the company right now.  Punk would be elevated to World Championship contention just at the mention of him walking into the arena and that would give the company a huge boost that is much needed right now.

2) TO MMA: There is no hiding the fact that Punk has been an avid lover of the sport of Mixed Martial Arts but could he hack it as a professional MMA fighter?  There is no doubt that he has fought for everything he has achieved and this would be a huge step in his career, to go from scripted fighting to the real deal.  The questions would be could his body endure the hectic training and could he at his age really be an effective fighter and not just a side show attraction.

1) TO WWE: If this is a ploy and it is one of those things to give Punk time off he will have to come back and be catapulted to the top of the food chain.  There were many who speculated that in Wrestlemaina XXX it would be Punk versus the authority in an epic rebel style battle but what would that benefit Punk who is looking to return to Champion status.  Punk is not only and entertainer he gives the crowd what they want, if you can recall even when he was a heel the people loved him his charisma and style just seems to draw fans and WWE will learn that in weeks to come.  In all honest I see Vince McMahon biting the bullet and bringing the star back to WWE because in the end that is what is best for business.

C.M. Punk leaves WWE

In a shocking move, C.M. Punk has left the WWE.  Many sources site that on an episode of Monday night RAW after the Pay-Per-View event ‘Royal Rumble’ the staff and authority wanted to make sure that Punk passed all concussion tests, Punk was very upset and stated that ‘I have passed all your F—— concussion tests’ and reportedly walked out backstage.  It has been very strange that in the past few WWE nationally televised shows that Punk has been absent and a no show.  To top it off he was removed from the WWE Axxess event prior to Wrestlemania XXX.

Many believe that this could just be a ploy from the authority and Punk, but the fact is it doesn’t seem that way.  Many times anytime there are issues they are brought to light on a show and displayed for all to see that is part of the drama of the WWE this however seems to be the real deal and only time will tell.  Punk has reportedly been disgruntled with not only a lack of time off but also with the “part-time” wrestlers coming back and gaining the spot light.  Many think that the return of Bautista and him winning the Royal Rumble to headline Wrestlemania was the straw that broke the camels back.

The fact is whether right or wrong in his exit, C.M. Punk is one of the top stars in the WWE and when the story broke there were many fans that were not happy about the fact that Punk is no longer with the company.  In my opinion both sides need each other, Punk has been a common solid figure for the WWE and has been the ‘go-to guy’ for many years.  For the WWE, it gives him the platform to speak his mind and gain a huge fan base, a bonus for he and the WWE.

The interesting fact in all this is that over the past couple of events you can hear the crowds chanting C.M. Punk’s name, and without hesitation there has been no mention of Punk or his whereabouts from the WWE or announcers.  Even more interesting is that in March the WWE will have a Monday Night RAW in…you guessed it Punk’s hometown of Chicago and that my friends should make for an interesting night.
